Concept though Internet Selling us the idea that everything we do and publish is stuck somewhere forever, it isn’t. Recent studies have shown that nearly 40% of sites created in the last decade have disappeared.
According to a Pew Research Center study, 38% of websites created in 2013 have disappeared a decade later, i.e. in 2023. It doesn’t stop there, as eight out of every 100 sites that will appear in 2023 are no longer available today.
Moving on to other specific data, the Pew Research Center revealed that 23% of news sites have at least one broken link, and this number rises to 54% for Wikipedia. About social networks, 20% of publications disappear after a few months for multiple reasons, such as account suspension. An interesting figure today is that more than 40% of publications written in Arabic or Turkish disappear three months after publication.
Investigation indicates that due to deletion or transfer of internet sites and publications, As well as root domain elimination, something that is beyond the reach of all users. On a related note, internet prices in Mexico may be on the rise.
