Nowadays, every profession has go-to meme pages and the legal profession is no different. Before we dive into the rankings it is important to note that there are two large verticals of the legal practice that pages can cater to:
- Litigation– this is the kind of lawyer that you typically see on TV giving an impassioned speech during a trial.
- Transactional– These are the lawyers that make contracts and execute deals. If you have read about an M&A deal in the news, it utilized these folks to make it happen. As a result, there is some crossover between pages that cater to this crowd and the “fin-meme” world.
To rank these pages, I scrolled through their content on Instagram and got a sense of how engaged followers were and how often the pages put out content. Without further ado, let’s hop right into the rankings:
Litigation God– (clearly a litigation page)
At 148k followers, they aren’t the biggest of the legal meme pages, but that will likely change over time if they continue at their current pace. Of the legal meme pages, they post the most frequently and their content is always witty, sharp, and absolutely hilarious. They have a knack for riding the current news trend and their fast paced meme style works well when paired with current events. They are also dominating Linkedin. Notable followers include Katie Phang and Congressman Joaquin Castro.
Attorney Problems– (Litigation)
At 288k followers, they are the biggest legal meme page on Instagram and they have been around for the longest period of time. They don’t post as often as the other pages and their content and posting style appears to appeal to an older demographic of the legal profession. However, they have earned a high ranking for being able to draw such a huge crowd of lawyers. If you are a lawyer on Instagram, then there is a pretty good chance you follow them.
BigLawBoiz– (Transactional / Litigation)
At 127k followers, they are one of the biggest transactional pages on Instagram. Their memes are often edgy, modern, and always funny. Their humor touches on both litigation and transactional practice, but their focus is more slated for folks who are at “Big Law Firms,” which typically means a firm in the AmLaw 100. Followers appear to be highly engaged and the admin often engages commenters with funny quips that are worth the scroll.
Non Equity Partner– (Transactional)
At 153k followers, they certainly win the award for the most creative legal meme page handle. This page is similar to BigLawBoiz, but it focuses more narrowly on transactional attorneys who have some finance knowledge and experience at a “Big Law” firm. This may not be the page for most, but if you fit their profile of user then you will likely love this page.
Attorney.memes– (Litigation)
At 153k followers, they are a page that seems to have the litigator in mind. They do not post as often as the other pages, but do get good engagement when they post.
OnlyAssociates– (Litigation)
At 66k followers, they are the smallest page to make the list, but they have some great content that makes use of some non-traditional meme formats. Definitely worth a follow if you’re looking for more legal meme pages.
According to these pages, lawyers have it pretty tough. The good news is that they seem capable of making light of their situation, which surely helps them get through the weeks of constant billing.
