Chinese lens manufacturer 7Artisans has just announced a new lens compatible with APS-C cameras: the 7Artisans 35mm F/0.95. This entirely manual lens will be available in Sony E-mount, Canon M-mount, Nikon Z-mount, FUJIFILM X-mount, and MFT lens mount. Let’s take a closer look at it!

If you’re new to 7Artisans, this Chinese lens manufacturer is known for making very fast manual photographic lenses at an affordable price.
The company announced the launch of a new lens compatible with DSLR/Mirrorless cameras with APS-C sensors: the 7Artisans 35mm F/0.95. It’ll be available in Sony E, FUJIFILM X, Canon M, Nikon Z, and MFT mounts.
The lens is entirely manual (focus and aperture) with a de-clicked aperture, and it is made out of metal. It’s a pretty compact and lightweight lens at just 369g/13oz.
The lens design consists of 11 elements in 8 groups. The minimum focusing distance is only 37cm/14.5in. The front of the lens has a 52mm filter thread to attach filters.
Price and Availability
The 7Artisans 35mm F/0.95 should start shipping at the end of November for a price of $255.
This price is really affordable for a lens this fast. As a comparison, the SIGMA 35mm F/1.4 DG HSM Art retails for $899, the Canon EF 35mm F/1.4L II USM is $1799, and the Samyang AF 35mm f/1.8 FE is $399.
I’m curious to see the first real-world footage shot with this lens. Indeed, with a maximum aperture of F/0.95, the image might be really soft if the lens is wide open. As you can imagine, you’ll probably have to stop the lens a bit to get tack sharp results.
