Samsung continues to develop the Galaxy S series and the next upgrade is on display.
Samsung seems to have planned a welcome upgrade to the integrated display for the Galaxy S24 and S24+. Perhaps there is a change to the latest high-tech, which is usually only available in the most expensive models. A great thing that one of the most well-known insiders can tell us early on.
Samsung is likely switching to a more modern LTPO display for the Galaxy S24 and S24+, which can also go to 1 Hz for still images. LTPO is a technological enhancement that allows screens to significantly reduce their refresh rate, putting less strain on the battery.
In some situations 120 Hz is not necessary, then 60 Hz, 30 Hz or less will suffice. However, many screens cannot do this at all and load the battery unnecessarily. A true LTPO screen is free to jump in frequency.
It’s only a “minor” point, but it could give the Galaxy S24 phones a major head start on the competition, which some of their models may not feature. Remember, the Galaxy S24 series is only 6 months away, so not too far away.
