A few days ago there were some rumors about the core numbers of individual Intel Core i-14000 processors. Now a CPU-Z screenshot confirms the i5-14600K’s specifications. One thing becomes clear: the next generation will likely not have any major increases in performance.
At the end of the year Raptor Lake refreshes in size Intel Core i-14000 processor come to market However, it is already becoming clear that there will be hardly any changes compared to the current generation. A recently leaked benchmark showed what we can expect in terms of performance. The Intel Core i5-14600K, whose specifications have now been confirmed again, will hardly get any changes.
According to a leaked CPU-Z entry, the CPU has 14 cores in total, with six performance cores and eight efficiency cores. Thanks to hyperthreading, there will be 20 threads again. According to the entry, the base clock of the individual core is included 3.5 GHz. This confirms previous rumors that all Raptor Lake Refresh models will receive a clock upgrade of 200 MHz over their predecessors. The CPU’s smart cache is apparently 24 MB.
The screenshot also shows that the CPU is boosting up 5.3 GHz Clocks are allowed. Typical power consumption is given as 125 watts. Under full load, however, the consumption should be higher. So far it’s not clear how much the clock change will affect performance. Large differences between generations are not expected, however. Raptor Lake will continue with the refresh Socket LGA 1700 Compatible, although a BIOS update will probably be required for older boards.
