Google is preparing its new Cast feature for the Pixel series, showing off new screenshot settings.
Hold Close to Cast is a new feature of the Google Pixel that is expected to launch next week. Now it has more screenshots. The feature will allow you to hold your smartphone in front of the tablet to start media streaming.
Google Pixel tablets and corresponding Android smartphones can therefore recognize them near each other. To do this, the devices must be logged into the same WiFi network as described in the function.
There will also be a guest mode to enable scanning of the entire network for cast transmissions.
It’s currently unclear if this will also work with smartphones that aren’t just part of Google’s Pixel series. On the tablet side, the function seems to be exclusively tied to Pixel tablets.
Google will offer the feature in Google Settings on Android.
