Bose has announced the Smart Ultra Soundbar, replacing the Smart Soundbar 900, which features advanced dialog processing and Dolby Atmos technology.
The new speaker features a new AI conversation mode that uses “machine learning” to balance volume and surround sound for greater clarity.
The soundbar uses Bose bipolar converters as well as Spatial and TrueSpace technology to expand the sound stage, whether you’re listening to Dolby Atmos components or stereo programs.
The Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar looks a lot like the Soundbar 900 and is a tongue depressor with a tempered glass panel. It is 2.3 inches high, 4 inches deep and 41 inches wide.
Connectivity includes HDMI eARC, Wi-Fi (Spotify Connect and AirPlay 2), and Bluetooth. The soundbar also includes Amazon Alexa – with the Bose Voice 4Video function that switches the TV to the desired channel or input – and allows control via a separate Google Assistant.
The Smart Soundbar 900 was an excellent speaker and I’m excited to see how the Smart Ultra compares. Especially against its main rival, the Sonos Arc.
The Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar is available now at Bose.com for $899 in Black and Arctic White.
