Samsung is finally throwing curved displays into Galaxy cell phones

Samsung wants to improve the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s screen again; It will be technically better and should offer other nuances as well.

We have already commented on this in the last few days. The end of so-called curved displays in flagship smartphones has finally arrived and Samsung is reducing the issue once again with the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra. The leak shows the difference with the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Even with its predecessor there was hardly talk of a curved display, but with the Galaxy S24 Ultra the display is no longer actually curved under the glass exterior. Samsung keeps Only the so-called 2.5D glass, which is very slightly curved on the outer edge and therefore provides a soft feel for the finger.

Google is taking a very similar approach; The new Pixel 8 Pro no longer has a curved screen and only uses glass that is curved in detail. However, we will continue to find real curved displays from most Chinese manufacturers, for example the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

The Galaxy S24 and S24+ are more likely to feature a sharper design, while the flat display is clearer thanks to the flattened housing frame.
