Xiaomi can certainly offer good cameras with the 13T series, but you shouldn’t expect too much.
Xiaomi introduced two new smartphones a few weeks ago and particularly highlighted their new Leica cameras. But you have to be clear that neither 13T model comes close to being a top device. While the 13T’s results were surprisingly poor, the 13T Pro managed to land higher on DXOMARK.
Still, at number 36 in the global rankings, it’s not exactly a high flyer. This puts it roughly on the same level as the Galaxy S23 series and the iPhone 12 Pro Max Although barely, it does slightly worse than the Pixel 7a, which is significantly cheaper at 509 euros. But, as already mentioned, it is much higher than the usual 13T.
Testers like this:
- Correct exposure in different lighting conditions.
- Good noise reduction in photos and videos.
- Autofocus for video is generally fast and accurate.
- Retaining details inside and outside the home.
Testers complain about this:
- Loss of detail in document images.
- Presence of artwork in portrait format.
- Slightly inaccurate skin rendering.
- Incorrect color rendering in night mode.
- Residual movement is observable during outdoor walking.
If you just take a quick look at the individual categories, the 13T Pro doesn’t perform noticeably worse in any case. Apart from the telephoto camera which performs well below the competition.
