Today players have the opportunity to travel back to the 20th century and immerse themselves in an alternate, post-apocalyptic world of Pandemic Train. The game combines survival, roguelike and action game elements. The main goal of the player is to find a cure for a virus that has decimated the human population. The disease is spreading at a maddening pace, but it is possible to create a cure and this is done by an extraordinary train crew. The player’s primary responsibility will be to operate the steam-powered behemoth. The longer it remains operational, the more likely it is to gather all the necessary resources and men ready to face the deadly threat. In harsh conditions, the train must be self-contained, with workshops, animal farms, gardens, laboratories and hospitals in the following cars. In this post-apocalyptic world, even basic resources like water are incredibly precious, so crew management and temporary settlements on the rails must be carefully planned.
The train cannot run all the time and each stop means a challenging mission for its crew members. You have to face not only brutal bandits, but also monsters created by viral mutations. Nothing works better against them than lead. The commander must not only secure supplies, but also ensure the safety and psychological well-being of the crew. The world of Pandemic Train is brutal, and players must be prepared to make tough decisions as they travel through the virus-infested wasteland. It’s impossible to save everyone, but it’s important to remember that the goal of the mission is to find a cure, and the price of achieving it can often be painful. In a protracted war, minimizing casualties is important and every commander must understand this.
Pandemic Train is developed by Trigger Labs and co-published by Game Operators. The game will be available on Steam from October 18. To stay up to date on other Game Operator projects, follow the publisher’s profiles on Twitter and Facebook
