The German gaming community is paying attention to Cologne, where the first nominations for the coveted German Developer Awards 2023 (DEP) were announced. The DEP, which has been awarded annually since 2004, has established itself as the most prestigious award in the German game industry.
This year, game developers from all over Germany will compete against each other in 14 different categories to receive awards for their creative and technical achievements in computer game development. The games “Dome Keeper” and “Signalis” received special attention They were nominated in three categories each and therefore have a great chance of being awarded several awards
The nominees were selected by a jury of twelve experts from an impressive number of 187 submissions. Now it’s up to the 160-member “Grand Jury” to decide on the winners of the top categories “Best German Game” and “Studio of the Year”. These decisions are eagerly awaited on 16th November

DEP is organized by games.nrw eV, the association of the games industry in North Rhine-Westphalia, and thrives on the promise of the industry. Numerous industry experts provide volunteer jury work, while companies from the gaming world support the award as partners and sponsors.
