Samsung started rolling out a massive update a few days ago and is shipping the first Galaxy smartphones with Android 14 and OneUI 6. But this is certainly no reason to suspend developments and the next update is already making great progress OneUI 6.1 is coming.
This will be the new software that Samsung will initially deliver on the Galaxy S24 series. Most likely early January 2024. There may already be some AI functions that have been talked about repeatedly lately. The only question is whether it can be offered on some older devices as well.
I can well imagine that Samsung wants to respond with OneUI 6.1 to Xiaomi 14 with Google Pixel (Magic Editor etc.) and some functions of HyperOS. Even if it’s just a small dot release, you can focus more on new functions, while OneUI 6 needs to adapt to Android 14 first.
