Taking a step back, Xiaomi has made the 14 Ultra a camera flagship again.
This wasn’t a big issue at all, although Xiaomi apparently took a step back in terms of the main camera’s image sensor on the new 14 Pro. It has shrunk from 1″ to 1/1.3″. This means the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will once again have a unique selling point in terms of camera and therefore stand out more clearly from the 14 Pro.
There probably won’t be such a downgrade with the 14 Ultra; Instead, Xiaomi plans to use a new 1″ image sensor for the main camera of the new flagship smartphone. Currently there is only not clearWhether Xiaomi will again use the Sony image sensor or an alternative from Omnivision.
I think that Xiaomi is focusing significantly less on hardware this time when marketing the 14 Ultra, but definitely more on the new AI functions. It will be the subject of 2024 and Xiaomi will be looking to compete with Samsung. So far, Xiaomi has been lagging behind in terms of AI, but that should change drastically in 2024 with the new HyperOS.
