The Redmi 13C has two major changes that make it quite attractive in the price range.
As already announced through leaks, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new entry-level smartphone. A listing on Amazon USA reveals all
Although the Redmi 13C is yet to be officially announced by Xiaomi, the Amazon page already provides extensive information about the technical data. Accordingly, the smartphone will be equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 chip, which has two performance and six efficiency cores. It is complemented by 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage which can be expanded via microSD. The battery capacity is 5,000 mAh.
The 6.74-inch IPS display on the Redmi 13C has a resolution of 720p. The main rear camera offers 50 MP and is supported by two rather insignificant 2 MP sensors for macro and depth shots. A 5 MP front camera is available for selfies. MIUI 14 based on Android 12 is used as the operating system.
Innovations in the 12C are primarily limited to the chip itself, which is made with a structure width of 6 nanometers instead of 12 and should therefore be significantly more energy efficient. The long-term change from micro-USB to USB-C for the charging port is also welcome.
Xiaomi’s official product launch is still pending, though you shouldn’t expect much fuss with a device in this price range.
If the stated retail price of $140 is correct, the Redmi 13C should come in at a good 100 euros in the German market. The 3/32 GB storage variant seems to have been scrapped – it was about time, but that also meant a higher starting price.
