The Stonefold Kingdom terrain is flat for shipping and storage, meaning shipping to customers is cheaper than shipping bulky, clunky parts from a facility like Dorven Forge. While the floor plans aren’t nearly as detailed or dynamic as the Brooklyn manufacturer, they are significantly more affordable and take up less space in your home. A box set dungeon is also very well made, with thick cardboard and a small magnet inside. I’ve been able to play a few home games with them and so far we’ve had little damage other than minor wear and tear from setting them up and taking them down.
The standout offering in this campaign is called the “Foldable Set,” one of which is pictured above. It consists of a 1 square meter board that folds to form the main play space with a stiff cardboard end cap to help keep it open and stable during play. Also included is a small topper that can add another layer, or it can be magnetized to the back of the diorama to allow easy 360 degree access to the table. According to a press release shared with Polygon, each set piece also includes its own scattered terrain and decorative items. For example, the top of Rocky Mountain has stairs, a suspension bridge, and large ice crystals to cover. The dungeon forge shown above features carved stone designs that transform runes and dwarven carvings into dragons, monsters, or even “dark” places. Note that the All-Terrain also has 1-inch fine mesh.
A box campaign includes dungeon magnetic dungeon walls as well as a series of other stage designs. Pledges start at $129 and include four “credits” that backers can use to get items of their choice. Credit one of the foldable parts and accessories. Physical rewards are expected to be available in November 2024, with a retail release slated for 2025. Retail price has not yet been determined.
