In Journey to the East, players embark on a fascinating journey through the Balkans, a region rich in culture and history. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the misty Carpathians, whose peaks rise majestically into the sky, the game offers the opportunity to trade with various cities and regions in the Balkan region. The new “Balkan” regional map features six historic locomotives, including the famous Bavarian S 3/6, and more than 10 new luxury goods that can be transported via the state-of-the-art rail network.
A central element of the DLC is an encounter with visionary businessman Georges Nagelmachers. Players support him in realizing his dream of building a new, grand railroad that would connect Western Europe to the exotic luxuries of the Ottoman Empire. The route spans the heart of ancient Constantinople, now Istanbul, with its impressive sights such as the Hagia Sophia and lively markets full of precious goods.
A special feature of the DLC is the new luxury train connection, which allows wealthy passengers to be transported to previously inaccessible environments. This exclusive train connection requires the use of lavishly equipped passenger cars. This allows players to maximize their winnings through higher ticket prices. However, it also requires the ability to attract travelers who can afford such luxury travel.
“Railway Empire 2 – Journey to the East” promises an exciting and expansive gaming experience for Railway Empire fans and will be available on February 2024 for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. This expansion opens up a world full of new possibilities, strategic challenges and luxurious railway adventures for players.
