“I’m fed up”: Google Pixel 8 users plagued by poor reception and why

Some are still not satisfied with how Pixel phones behave during reception.

Google has made strange decisions or perhaps signed unfavorable contracts in recent years. This confirmed that some of the suspected faulty hardware from the Pixel 6 has been integrated into the Pixel smartphone. The Pixel 9 with the Tensor G4 will probably have an average modem installed again.

With the current Pixel 8 series, Google is again using an Exynos modem from Samsung and has even repeatedly installed an older generation. The reception performance of the current two Google phones may not be that good. Although Google has managed to implement improvements to the Pixel 7 series, there are still complaints about reception performance.

There could be several reasons for the problem, but Google should be using newer hardware for the Pixel 9

One user expressed his anger and received a lot of approval, but also resistance. He’s tired of having no reception around the world on his Pixel 8, while his partner’s iPhone and his older Pixel 5 (Qualcomm chip) have good reception. Additionally, battery consumption due to mobile communications is unusually high for a modern telephone.

Other users’ opinions that reception can vary greatly from network to network. I personally don’t want to confirm that there is a problem. The reception now seems to be of better quality and has changed somewhat compared to its predecessors. We also didn’t find that my wife had better reception with the iPhone 15.

Curiously, I’m having more issues with our mesh wifi, which I didn’t have with my Pixel 7 Pro. But it can also be an isolated case.
