The start of the new year involves rebooting our Pixel devices.
The new year starts in the first week with an update for Pixel smartphones and it is available from the evening of January 3rd. The first update of the new year includes a few minor improvements for various Pixel devices as well as the latest security patches for Android.
This time there are quite common bug fixes, basically all devices are included and improved. We don’t expect the next major update until March 2024 with the next Pixel feature drop for Pixel devices.
The update brings these bug fixes:
the camera
- Fix for users experiencing camera crashes in certain situations. *[3]

- Fixed an issue where users would experience a flashing black screen when playing videos under certain conditions *[1]
- Fix for users unable to complete setup wizard under certain conditions. *[4]
- Fixed an issue that caused the home screen wallpaper to appear black under certain conditions. *[2]
