Customers agree that Pixel smartphones look the best in photos
Google launched several new smartphones last year. It started at around 500 euros and the Pixel 7a was released in spring 2023. Things continued even after the fall, the Pixel 8 Pro, priced at over 1,000 euros, was launched, and Google also broke new ground with the Pixel Fold for around 2,000 euros. But what do all devices have in common?
This is the strongest main camera that Google can serve up in all three price ranges. This is underlined once again by one of the best-known blind tests in existence for smartphone cameras. Users vote for their interesting photos, but don’t know the devices behind them. Unbiased results, based only on users’ tastes, are evident.
The pictures taken from the Pixel camera are the most interesting
The tests conducted by the MKBHD team over several weeks finally produced a clear result. Three current Google phones received the most votes. The Pixel 7a came in first, followed by the Pixel 8 Pro and the Pixel Fold. The first Samsung phones ranked 5th and 6th, the first iPhone ranked 7th.
Manufacturers that are particularly vocal about their cameras come in at 19th in the form of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and Sony’s camera specialists are in last place with the Xperia 1 V. The cameras may be good from a professional point of view, but they are clearly not suitable for the consumer.
Of course the Pixel has a better camera than the smartphone. But if you look at it from the customer’s perspective that’s what manufacturers want to solve. Today, photos are taken primarily for social media and consumers are best served if they get a Pixel smartphone
