Around 200 million users worldwide now use MIUI ROM. Xiaomi recently launched the 14 series. The smartphone series was initially thought to ship with MIUI 15, but it turned out to be HyperOS instead. Older devices will also get the new operating system through the update. According to Xiaomi, the following smartphones and tablets will receive the update in early 2024:
Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are currently launched. The new operating system is Officially available from today and about 5.9 GB in size.
HyperOS as the basis for the entire product range
Xiaomi promises a complete solution here New and revised software architecture – but we still don’t know what that means. Like MIUI, the software will be based on Android, so the Google Play Store and apps will be available. This will be an in-house integration only “Vela IoT-System” In addition, HyperOS will not only be used in smartphones in the future, but will be used in all of the manufacturer’s products. This also includes upcoming electric cars that are currently in the works.
The first images show an iOS-like design
The first images showing the new HyperOS interface are already circulating online. However, this is an older version that was installed by some experimental users. The screenshots show, among other things, the new lockscreen adjustments, which are strongly reminiscent of iOS. The new camera app also seems to be based on Apple’s model. Clearly Xiaomi is moving further away from the Android standard with HyperOS and relying on it instead iOS-like design.
