Google’s upcoming Pixel 8a has been leaking like crazy lately. A few days ago we got the spec sheet, and shortly after, another one was revealed. Google itself showed us the Pixel 8a phone in an ad for its telecommunications company in the US last week.
Two new images of the phone have leaked today, showing both the back and front in a color that will no doubt be called Obsidian (since Google likes to say black these days).
The rear shot is basically what you’d expect: there’s a camera “visor” that extends from one side of the frame to the other, two sensors and a circular LED flash array, the signature Minimum G, and not much else.
On the front, however, the edges of the display are the real star, as they seem quite large for this price – especially the chin. Then again, Google will probably get away with it because most people will appreciate its software and camera quality. Compared to the Pixel 7a it will replace, the bezels aren’t as bad, it’s just that some of the Pixel 8a’s competitors in Europe and Asia have much smaller bezels.
Speaking of comparison with the predecessor: this time the corners are more rounded. In addition to the Obsidian color shown here, the Pixel 8a is also expected to be available in Ceramic (white) and Bay (blue). It should be equipped with Google’s Tensor G3 chipset and feature a 6.1-inch 120 Hz OLED display, 128/256 GB storage, a 64 MP main camera with OIS, a 13 MP ultra-wide camera and a 13 MP selfie camera. . 4500 pixels. 27W mAh battery with wired charging support.
