A new path has been brewing for HMDs for some time now; Now that the first models are official, the post-Nokia era begins with the HMD Pulse series. All in all, it will be very affordable if not cheap in terms of price.
The Pulse Pro is a smartphone with a 50 MP selfie camera, but given the price range (€179.90 RRP), you shouldn’t expect any miracles (autofocus is included, however). Pulse Plus and Pulse complete the portfolio at even lower prices. With the introduction of its own smartphone branding, HMD clearly wants to appeal to the cheaper mass market.
How do these prices even come about? HMD relies on very cheap hardware; Even the Pulse Pro only has a Unisoc processor. Nevertheless, you still want to be able to guarantee two operating system upgrades. In my opinion, however, this contradicts the longevity that is actually aimed for with a battery that is easily replaceable and even more easily repairable.
Nokia is essentially over, even if it still has a current license and recently announced new feature phones. There will likely be no new smartphones, just existing models maintained and sold. You can save future license costs, Nokia no longer works. If you are interested in HMD models, you will find everything else on the homepage.
