Yesterday, rumors surfaced that Google is preparing to launch a version of the Pixel tablet that will come without the inclusion of a speaker charging dock. Today, a new rumor “confirms” previous rumors (as any rumor can “confirm” anything) and adds helpful pricing information for the new dockless tablet.
Fortunately, it will cost less than the tablet + docking station package currently available. In the Eurozone, unnamed retailers are reportedly only charging 446 euros with 128GB of storage and 553 euros with 256GB for the tablet.
For comparison, note that the current package with docking station for these two storage versions costs €679 and €779 respectively. However, the leaked prices look odd and may not include VAT, which varies widely between EU countries
If you add 19% German VAT, the price is €529 for the 128 GB model and €659 for the 256 GB model. It’s still a big discount for those who don’t need the dock, so an official release can’t come soon enough.
The same unnamed retailer is also said to have listed the rumored Bluetooth keyboard accessory. This storage system is priced at €89, which may or may not be the final retail price. If it is also VAT-free, the final price of the back calculation in Germany will be €105 The rumored stylus isn’t listed, but a leak yesterday said it will cost the same as the keyboard.
