Color codenames for upcoming Google devices are often leaked long before official assets or live images. If you check out the wallpapers today, you can check out the colors of the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Color code names are shared and may not all be live or changed immediately Robot body We:
Pixel 9
- Obsidian
- Porcelain
- the smell
- the peony
Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL
- Obsidian
- Porcelain
- Hazelnut
- the rose
Pixel 9 Pro Fold
- Obsidian
- Porcelain or “Gold”
Obsidian has a clear black color, as evidenced by the leaked live images. Note the role that glossy (Pixel 9) and matte (Pixel 9 Pro) surfaces play on the back.
Ceramic is another common denominator among these four phones. The Pixel 8a (see above) leans more towards beige than white.
In terms of unique colors, we have Jade on the Pixel 9. Last year, the Jade on the Pixel 8 turned out to be a dark honey color that could be mistaken for gray. It was darker than the Hazel on the 7 Pro. Peony will be another iteration that will be translated into Rose at launch.
Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 8
In the Pixel 9 Pro series we have Hazel and Rose. These are especially the final launch colors of last year’s small phones. However, if it’s just a codename, it suggests that the color/name will be different at launch.
Both will be slightly more muted than the mint and beige colors of today’s 8 Pro. Google hopes it won’t detract from the vibrancy that makes the blue Pixel 8 Pro so special. Rose certainly doesn’t look as attractive as Coral on the Pixel 7a.
Pixel 7a, Pixel 8
On the Pixel 9 Pro Fold front we await a possible iteration with the current porcelain, which in my eyes is definitely gold.
