For a long time, PlayStation protected its games like a treasure and its exclusives from the “evil” hardware of Xbox and PC alike. But times are changing, and while Xbox continues to dream of certain titles, PC has received a variety of games that were only available on PS. And what can I say, they all turned out impressively well. Many games received significant technical improvements in graphics and performance, some new options and generally made excellent use of the increased performance of PC hardware.
Here’s a quick overview of these impressive PS-to-PC ports.
Transformational success
The first is a major PC release in 2024, Ghost of Tsushima. Soccer Punch Productions’ first production to make the jump from PlayStation to PC. PC users have previously missed out on the Infamous and Sly Cooper games, so it’s great that the studio’s latest hit is now coming to PC.
Ghost of Tsushima offers a fascinating journey through the first Mongol invasion of Japan. Players take on the role of a survivor of the first invasion who decides to wage a one-man war against the Mongol invaders. Explore a breathtaking open world, engage in open combat, employ secret tactics and experience a dramatic story of honor, duty and necessary action. But this is the latest in a series of fantastic PlayStation games to come to PC.
The era of high-profile ports had truly begun Horizon Zero Dawn, which paved the way for further revelations. Horizon Zero Dawn was already impressive on PS4, and it looked even better on PC. It offers a stunning and fascinating vision of a post-apocalyptic world ruled by robotic replicas of extinct animals. A strange threat is turning these robots on the offensive, and Aloy, a young hunter, must do something about this growing threat. The game offers a great mix of open-world action, sci-fi story and excellent art design.
Another game that addresses humanity’s less urbanized era god of war, a series of games that are primarily PS exclusives. But PC gamers were able to enjoy the first part of the soft reboot, which was originally released in 2018. The gameplay was moved closer to third-person action, and since Kratos now lived in mythical Scandinavia instead of his native Greece, he was given a frozen ax instead of his flaming chain blade. The game offers a more serious and difficult story that connects numerous, exciting battles.
Not all ports are removed from the modern world. For example, they came spider manInsomniac’s games are coming to PC in 2022 after PS exclusivity. They are among the best superhero simulations and offer a Spider-Man experience similar to the Batman Arkham games for the Dark Knight. Web-swinging through Manhattan, battling various villains and facing Peter and Miles’ personal challenges are true to the original.
This list wouldn’t be complete without Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which in an unusual way brings the final installment of this extraordinary action-adventure series and its spin-offs to PC, apart from the previous three games. Despite this gap, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is one of the best adventure films since 1999’s The Mummy and has the added benefit of being a great game with fun puzzles, interesting level design and spectacular action sequences.
More possibilities
More and more PlayStation exclusive titles will surely appear for PC, which gives hope for a future where Bloodborne and Demon’s Souls will also join their From Software counterparts on PC. And when that future arrives, they’ll join the exclusives already available on the platform G2A.com Easy to deserve.
