Google is behind Samsung and Apple in the ranking but not far behind.
An updated version of the smartphone rankings from Stiftung Warentest is likely out, and it will surely be interesting for many people to see how current Android smartphones from major manufacturers actually perform. Because no one can surpass the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, which sits alone on the throne with a grade of 1.5.
Right behind it is the first Samsung smartphone, with the Galaxy S24 Ultra in second place because it’s not just for the camera, but the Google Pixel 8 Pro is naturally further behind. A common flaw in this generation as well: relatively short battery life.
Google will improve with the Pixel 9, then using a new modem and a Tensor G4 with a new CPU structure. But the really big leap only came with the Pixel 10, when Google used its own custom CPU for the first time and thus moved away from Samsung’s Exynos components.
In addition to Google’s top model, the Sony Xperia 5 V and the regular Samsung Galaxy S24 also earned a 1.9 grade. If you’re looking for a really cheap model, you’ll have to scroll a little further and you’ll still find the Samsung Galaxy A25 with a 2.3 grade pretty high. If you want more, you can stick with Samsung and spend the money on the A34 or A55
