Actor Elliott Page has gone through quite a bit of trouble after adopting his new identity a few years ago, as people close to him have not stopped attacking him for his decision. In a segment called “Famous Stupid at a Party” he tells how 2014, while still identifying as a lesbian before her transition, was verbally assaulted during a party in Los Angeles. Where they constantly insisted on having a relationship that she obviously didn’t want to have for some reason and she still remembers the words they said to her that night.

What is quite curious is that later in the day the attacker tried to deny that he had no problem with homosexuals. The actor narrated this anecdote to show the reality that queer and trans people face. Rest assured that he has lived several versions of this in his life. Adding that these moments, which are often not talked about or considered to be ignored, are actually terrifying and sometimes kept quiet out of fear or rejection from society.
He concludes by commenting that he has decided not to reveal the attacker’s name, although he makes it clear that if the person reads the book, he will know it is him. He highlights the power and influence of these individuals Hollywood, which remains intact despite its apparent inclusion in current films and series. And he emphasized that since he is still someone who has already made a name for himself in the industry, no matter how much his identity is revealed, it is unlikely to be ruled out, especially because of his familiarity.

Author’s Note: To this day, these attacks are commonplace, so the situation he went through doesn’t surprise me. However, and as he says, when they do, there’s not much to fear because of the familiarity of familiar actors.
