Samsung is making a lot of upgrades to the main camera on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
It looks like Samsung will change the camera setup on the back of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but unfortunately it won’t improve significantly in one area. Those who prefer to use Zoom will be happy with an upgrade. But another upgrade will also be noticeable.
What hasn’t changed, just slightly improved, is the main camera’s 200MP image sensor. Samsung has retained it and it is clearly a wrong decision. This means that Samsung can’t offer the best camera in a smartphone even if you really wanted to.
The weaknesses of the 200 MP image sensor are obvious and have been known for years. On the one hand, it is physically very small and absorbs very little light, but on the other hand, the shutter release is very slow due to the huge resolution. Samsung has already worked on this, but you won’t be able to match the 50 MP camera from the competition.
offer 50MP Zoom and Ultra Wide Angle Each equipped with the latest 50MP image sensor. This means that the days of 10 MP telephoto cameras (3x zoom) are numbered. The change from 12 to 50 MP at ultra wide angle must be clearly visible in detail.
The setup then looks like this:
- 200 MP main camera
- 50 MP Ultrawetwinkle
- 50 MP 3x zoom
- 50 MP 5x zoom and more
