Samsung equips many smartphones with camera sensors, now there is a new generation.
Samsung has announced three new ISOCELL camera sensors: ISOCELL GNJ, ISOCELL HP9 and ISOCELL JN5 These aren’t exactly high-end camera sensors, so they’ll probably be used in different price ranges, not Samsung smartphones
The 50MP ISOcell GNJ sensor offers dual pixel autofocus, in-sensor zoom and improved light output for natural-looking photos. It’s also more energy efficient than previous sensors, which also applies to previews and 4K video.
The 200 MP ISOCELL HP9 sensor features higher light sensitivity, better autofocus and more accurate color reproduction. It allows up to 12x optical quality zoom when combined with a 3x zoom lens, but can also be used as a main camera.
The 50 MP ISOCELL JN5 sensor is designed for use as an ultra-wide-angle camera. It provides consistent results with improved autofocus, expanded color spectrum and noise reduction in low light. However, its compact size allows it to be used as a front or telephoto camera.
