This may be the main reason why many people are not interested in buying the Galaxy Ring.
Already after the presentation of the Galaxy Ring, Samsung announced that the information on their own homepage was incorrect. You don’t need a Samsung smartphone to use the Galaxy Ring. Now there is more clarity, unfortunately also of a negative nature.
The first tests are online and colleagues have tried to see if the Galaxy Ring works with Android phones from other manufacturers. In that case, there is a catch. As with other Galaxy wearables, not all functions are offered on non-Samsung phones.
The Galaxy Ring lacks several functionalities. In my opinion, this is too much for a gadget that costs around 450 euros and I will probably cancel my order. According to testing, these things only work with Samsung phones: Energy Score, Galaxy AI health recommendations, Find My Ring, and gestures to control the camera and hide alarms (via Android Police)
