In addition to other battery-related changes in Android 15 beta 4, Google has optimized the Pixel widget to take advantage of more dynamic colors.
The design of the Pixel battery widget – in all its forms – hasn’t changed in Android 15, but your phone, which is always the first device in the list, now uses a different color than the other percentage bars at the bottom or right.
This will help you quickly distinguish between the most important components of the tool. (At the same time, Google should make more modern phone icons that don’t have thick frames at the top and bottom.)
Beta 3.1 vs 4
Of course, the biggest change in Android 15 Beta 4 is how you can see the cycle count in Settings > System > Device Diagnostics > Component Health > Battery Status. The parts history section also shows the date of manufacture and date of first use, while the original capacity percentage shows what is primarily new.
This information was previously only available on the Pixel 8a (and later devices). In fact, in the mid-range category, it occupies a more prominent place under Settings > About Phone > Battery Info. Starting with Beta 4, 3-level access is not available on Pixel 8 or tablets.
