Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is launching its new flagship models X200 and X200 Pro in the international market. The devices are primarily distinguished by their camera systems, which were developed in collaboration with German optics specialist Zeiss.
Special attention is paid to advanced telephoto lenses, which are intended to set new standards in zoom and image quality. The X200 Pro has a 200 MP telephoto camera with Zeiss certification. Thanks to a physically large image sensor, the Vivo promises detailed results even when taking photos with a long focal length and difficult lighting conditions.
Photography aside, the X200 series should score points with powerful hardware, long-lasting battery and elegant optics. It’s powered by MediaTek’s current Dimension 9400 chipset, backed by Vivo’s own V3+ image processor in the Pro.
With a battery capacity of up to 6,000 mAh and a charging capacity of up to 90 watts, Vivo wants to enable longer times and shorter charging intervals. When it comes to the case, the manufacturer is sticking to a quad-curved display that hugs the sides of the case, contrary to earlier rumors that they would stick to a more angular iPhone design.

Pricing and availability of the X200 series for the German market has yet to be determined. The devices have been on sale in China for a few weeks now, with the X200 starting at the equivalent of 615 euros, the X200 Pro at 785 euros. Starting the market in this country can add up to several hundred euros.
In true Xiaomi style, Vivo has announced another variant of the X200 series for the coming months: the X200 Ultra. This model is intended to be a step forward in terms of camera equipment.
According to rumours, it will also get the new Sony LYT 818 sensor – not only in the main camera, but also under the ultra-wide-angle lens. However, the Ultra will initially appear only in China. It remains to be seen if and when it will hit the global market.
