Google has come up with something to save the battery of its Pixel smartphones. With the first major Android 15 update (quarterly update December 2024), Pixel device users will be able to charge the battery up to 80 percent. This protects the battery and can extend its life.
But it is gives A small peculiarity: every time to calibrate it and then the battery is still fully charged. This is necessary so that the system can accurately determine the actual capacity of the battery. A short note in the system informs the user about these exceptions.
Google introduced new limits with Android 15 and the latest Google Play services. In Settings, users should be able to find “Adaptive Loading” and enable the option.
Interestingly, Google took a relatively long time to introduce this feature. The same was true of the battery health display, which has long been standard on iPhones.
Battery is also protected
In the meantime, we’ve also discovered how to keep the battery at 80 percent with as little damage as possible. A bypass function has been added for this. When the battery is “full”, power from the power adapter bypasses the battery and goes directly to the phone.
The battery is no longer supplied with power, which is a good point. It also reduces the heat generated when the user uses the device while connected to the charger – this has a very positive and gentle effect on the battery.
