Samsung is kicking off the new year with a few new things, including an all-new trade-in program. The first test run starts on time, as Samsung intends to launch its Galaxy S25 smartphones in a week, and then there will surely be attractive trade-in deals for your old devices. Samsung wants to contribute to the circular economy.
Interestingly, the trade-in program has now been set up separately, as it offers trade-ins for Galaxy devices throughout the year and also without purchasing a new device. Basically, you are competing with many used platforms like eBay and classifieds.
“We are excited to launch our brand new, year-round Galaxy trade-in program to enhance the value of Galaxy devices for users and contribute to a circular economy,” it said in a statement. The new program will start as a pilot project with its neighbors in France and will be rolled out to other countries after 2025. Likewise partners, we know it from Apple as well.
Trade-in is transparent, easy, that’s the advantage, but there’s less money for private sales. In the end, everyone has to decide for themselves how to turn their old device into money, but I can happily part with a few euros because of the convenience.
