- Samsung is bringing some Galaxy Z Fold 2 features to the Galaxy Fold with the next update.
- The update will include tweaks to App Pair, Pro Video mode, and more.
Samsung is giving the Galaxy Fold a little more feature love with its latest update. The company’s first foldable phone will receive several Galaxy Z Fold 2 features in a forthcoming patch.
The biggest arrival is Wireless Dex, which allows the casting of Samsung’s desktop experience to a compatible smart TV. Through Dex, users can also use the Galaxy Fold as the most expensive touchpad they own. Wireless Dex first arrived on the Galaxy Note 20 series, but later hit the Galaxy Z Fold 2, too. The feature will be available from the Quick Panel on the Galaxy Fold.
More on-device multitasking improvements are also arriving. An improvement to App Pair and Multi-Active Window will let users select up to three apps to launch simultaneously across the 7.3-inch display.

Mobile photographers will get some love too. Capture View Mode will let users preview up to five shots on the left half of the Galaxy Fold’s large screen. The camera live-view can be viewed on the right. Dual Preview and Rear Camera Selfie functionality treats the cover screen as a viewfinder for the main cameras, so you or a subject can get a good idea of what the camera sees.
Finally, buffs to the Galaxy Fold’s Pro Video mode also arrive. Focus peaking and a histogram are now available, as well as 21:9 ratio and 24fps video options. Samsung’s Single Take feature also makes a welcome appearance to help users decide which shot, GIF, or video is the best.
It’s not clear when the features will be available. The update may however signal the long-awaited arrival of One UI 2.5 to Samsung’s foldable.
