Kapil Madaan has been appointed as the new chief information security officer at auto component manufacturing major Spark Minda.
In his previous role, Madaan was global leader of cybersecurity at Max Healthcare. His career in cybersecurity started during his stint at Ashtech Infotech, where he was responsible for managing core IT infrastructure and security.
Madaan has more than 12 years of experience in managing cybersecurity operations, audit and accreditation, infosec, data privacy, strategic planning, and disaster recovery planning. He also built expertise in the area of regulatory compliance—specifically in Service Organization Control 2 (SOC2), ISO27001, and Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS).
In addition to technological skills, Madaan over the years accrued experience as a cybersecurity global leader across various verticals including telecommunications, banking, finance, IT services, and healthcare. With Spark Minda, he adds yet another sector to his career span in cybersecurity.
Asked how he views security in the auto manufacturing space, Madaan said that it’s now extending beyond a set of rules and protocols for organizations to follow. “Cybersecurity is becoming a new dimension of quality for the automotive Industry,” he said.
With its foray into telematics, intelligent transport systems (ITS), and the internet of things (IoT), cybersecurity is foreseeably a critical focus area for Spark Minda.
