(Pocket-Lint) – Twitter decided many years ago to randomly display the tweets from people you follow in the timeline.
It took the old, reverse-chronological feed and applied an algorithm that made it seem like you’d be the most careful to tweet Surface. The goal was to keep the user busy. But that means you’ll see things like “tweets you missed” at the top of your timeline At any given time, you can pull-to-refresh to get an up-to-the-second experience, but many people dislike seeing old tweets as soon as they open Twitter on their phone or desktop.
For example, you may have seen a day-old tweet about some viral moments at a sporting event instead of a real stream of real-time tweets. And, even if you pull-to-refresh, after scrolling down a bit, you’ve probably seen more old tweets inserted into your feed. Fortunately, although it has taken some time, Twitter is still behind this annoying experience.
Here’s what you need to know.
Why did Twitter drop the chronological timeline?
Well, a few years ago, Facebook and Instagram started serving relevant posts that you probably want to see the most, from the previously organized way of doing things. Think about it: If you have 1,000 friends on Facebook, you don’t want to see every single thing in each of their posts Facebook thinks you don’t, so it uses algorithms to show probably the most important posts. But what is good for Facebook is not what is good for Twitter. And it looks like Twitter is starting to realize that.
In other words, Twitter is finally letting users get back to their uninterrupted chronological timeline.

What is the ‘Show latest tweets’ option?
Twitter recently updated its “latest first show” setting. Now, when it’s launched, you’ll only see the tweets you follow. Previously, you only saw interesting and suggested tweets from people who followed you Sometimes, these tweets may be hours or days old, but Twitter still feels they are relevant to you.
Why switch to Twitter course?
Via Twitter (via Twitter support) Announced in 2018 that it has created new ways to give you more control over your timeline. It learned that the best tweets were first shown to be “more relevant and useful” – but that it “doesn’t always keep this balance.” So, it provides an easy way for users to switch to a timeline of the most recent tweets instead of the most relevant tweets.
