Greetings to the PlayStation community! I’m Felix, SloClap’s marketing manager. It’s been almost a year since we first released Sifu during the State of Play in February 2021. It was a wild ride for the whole team and we were all very excited for the Sifur launch.
For the final PS blog post before the launch, we wanted to give you a few tips from the team to help you on your way to revenge.
We know Sifu is challenging. Of course, the difficulty is relative to the player, and we know that some of you will have no problem meeting your revenge! But for those who may need a helping hand, the team has created a short list of tips and tricks that will serve you well in difficult situations.
Overall progress tips
Learn and train both of your defensive measures: parry and avoid
They both deal with their confidence as they choose to embark on their play activities. Learning time early will help you a lot in the next fight, take time to practice both mechanics.
Find and explore shortcuts
By playing and exploring through a level, you will unlock keys that give you access to very effective shortcuts. Use them to quickly get back to the boss fights. You’ll also find hidden rooms and weapons that can prove quite effective.
Stay calm and keep going
Even if you believe your character is too old to finish the game, going to higher levels will allow you to unlock more skills and secret passages. To improve your last age, once you know the game better you can go back to the previous secret places.
Boss fights
Observe and learn first
Don’t be too aggressive at first. Focus on defense, block and dodge attacks, so that you gradually learn the types of bosses.
Find the window of opportunity in their pattern
The bosses often give you the opportunity to resist the attack at the end of a pattern, often during their attack cycle. Avoid or successfully parry and counter-attack now.
Don’t try to make the encounter a barbaric ball or cheese
Basra will be very strong against overly aggressive behavior, button mixing or effective tactics against common enemies (crowd control, etc.). Smart war!
Fighting group
Do not allow yourself to be surrounded by enemies
Even the most basic thugs will be deadly if they attack many at the same time. Dodge out and cross the barrier before you get cornered or surrounded.
Use your crowd control strategies
Use push back and knock down techniques to thin the feathers. Throwing tools are also very effective tools to stun and disable enemies.
Prioritize your goals
Armed enemies are particularly deadly, to quickly reduce the level of threat, take both out quickly and take their weapons for yourself. Strong enemies have special health bars (silver and gold) – they can be easy to separate before taking them.
We hope these tips help you along the way, and we can’t wait to hear how you proceed. Tell us how you are.
Finally, we wanted to let you know that part of the team behind Sifu is already working on post-launch content. We have exciting plans for free content updates which we will be able to tell you soon! Stay tuned to learn more and enjoy your experience with Sifur!
