Introduction
The HP Envy x360 15.6-inch 2-in-1 laptop is the latest in the x360 lineup, paired by the HP Specter x360 13.5-inch 2-in-1 laptop. It can be found with AMD or Intel processors, although we will focus on the Intel model here.
The HP Envy x360 15.6-inch 2-in-1 laptop seems to have been designed with Creativity in mind, featuring a 360-degree hinge to transform the traditional clamshell form factor into a tablet. It comes with an HP rechargeable tilt pen, allowing users to write notes and create doodles.
I only spent a short time with the HP Envy x360 15.6-inch laptop at a press event, so the product will not be fully reviewed here. Instead, it’s hands-on that focuses on design and space rather than device functionality and battery life.
Price and availability
The HP Envy x360 15.6-inch 2-in-1 laptop starts at মূল্য 899.99 and is expected to be available in May. We will update this article once the UK and European pricing as well as more specific release dates are confirmed.
Design and screen
- 15.6-inch display
- 88% screen-to-body ratio
- Natural silver and nightfall come in black
- Multi-touch enabled
The HP Envy x360 15.6-inch laptop is a super-slick device with a highly professional look. Both the touchpad and the keyboard have proven to be responsive and easy to use, like the touchscreen, whether I’m using my finger or the HP tilt pen. There were no signs of cracks or errors when scrolling through the articles or typing on the on-screen keyboard.
Weighing in at 1.7kg, the 15.6-inch display suggests that this laptop is easy to use on the go – as opposed to the heavy HP NV 17.3-inch laptop. The HP Envy x360 15.6-inch is ideal for anyone currently working hybrids or those who travel frequently, as I had no problem holding the device in one hand and its small size makes it fit easily on most backpacks.
This laptop is available in two colors – Natural Silver and Nightfall Black – but I would still welcome more color options – such as the Acer Spin 5’s Sage Green colorway, for example. The HP Envy x360 comes with 15.6-inch multiple ports, including two Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C, DisplayPort 1.4, two SuperSpeed USB Type-A, an SD media card reader, HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5mm audio jack. The inclusion of Thunderbolt 4 makes it a great choice for any creative with a welcome addition who needs to transfer large amounts of data or video files.
There are three different choices for the display, though all measure 15.6 inches and feature edge-to-edge glass and a multi-touch-enabled screen. There is an FHD option with 1920 x 1080 resolution, brightness up to 400 nits and 100% sRGB gamut coverage, according to HP.
The other 1920 x 1080 option is up to 500 nits in OLED and HDR modes, as well as providing 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamete. Finally, the last option has a higher resolution of 2560 x 1440, a 120Hz refresh rate, plus 100% coverage of the sRGB gamut – but only 300 net brightness. Each display option offers high-end features, such as 100% coverage and a high net count, and I really like the variety of options HP presents. When I bring the device to our lab for testing, I look forward to testing whether HP’s quoted spaces are correct.

This machine can be configured up to 1TB PCle storage and up to 16GB DDR4 RAM, which should be sufficient for productive workers and some manufacturers.
