Take the West Coast Main Line, over the Runcorn Railway Bridge, and use this express 4-6-0 to take passengers on a lifelong journey to the center of Merseyside. Additionally, be in charge of the hard-working LMS Stanier 8F class locomotive, its rugged BR Late Black camouflage and 2-8-0 wheel configuration are more suitable for running low speed, heavy freight trains.

To achieve a 1950s authentic 1950-mile (58 km) journey from Liverpool Lime Street to Cruy, we used countless references, including historical OS map collections, railway photographic archives, old postcards, and more at the National Library of Scotland. In addition to the historic locomotives, wagons and buildings, Spirit of Steam also features a complex signaling system and an entertainment of historically accurate LNWR signal boxes that were built along the line.
