The year is 2030, and you are competing in a brutal new BloodSport – RollerDrom. Combine stylish skate techniques with destructive slow-mo kills, carefully pick your weapons to land the kill blow and get it to the end of the round… and perhaps, with enough skill and hard work, to the end of the championship.
To survive in the rollerdam cutthroat world, you need to know the rules of the game and the skills you need to give you a competitive edge. Fortunately for you, Creative Director Paul Rabbit and Lead Game Designer Andreas Yanikaris are here to brief you, as well as to explain some of the PlayStation 5 specific features that you can enjoy in the game.
- Skate or die: In the roller drum, slowing down or stopping is a sure way to kill yourself. Chase adrenaline and always keep pace – you have to keep going and dig your way through the arena. Concentrate on avoiding enemy attacks and stopping tactics – both will recover your ammunition. You can shoot at enemies to reduce their health and stop them on the go, but don’t be tempted to stop moving!
- Stunned movement: Surprising enemies repel their attack and in the case of the Riot Guard (who defends himself with a large metal riot shield) leaves them in a weak position where they will take damage from all weapons.
- Reloading: You gain ammunition by performing tactics. The more complex the strategy, the more ammunition you will be able to gain. With the PS5 Dualsense Controller, you’ll be able to feel the lack of resistance to the trigger when you’re out of the bullet – use it to your advantage to let your clip be empty and plan accordingly to keep your chamber. Full for next time.
- Weapons: You’ll have plenty of weapons available as you progress through the levels – you’ll start with the initial dual pistol, but as you progress you’ll unlock other weapons, including a grenade launcher and powerful Z-11 power. Rifle. Take the time to learn which weapon you gravitate to and which is most effective against a variety of enemies.
- Artistic hoax: When you want to be always on the move, you need to be agile to avoid or prey on enemies. Use your dodge roll to change direction quickly. Keep an eye out for enemy targets – with the PS5 DualSense controller, some incoming enemy attacks will also trigger a specific hepatic response of the strike type. You can use the feeling of hepatic reaction as a signal to help you pick the perfect moment to move.
- Goal of perfection: Dodge rolls and air dodges are not only convenient for maneuvering – they are the most powerful moves you have, allowing you to evade any kind of enemy attack. You need to use dodging as a tactic to avoid highly skilled house players – enemy fighters who are standing between you and Rollerdrome Arena for victory. If you do it just in time, you can do a perfect dodge and enter super reflex mode.
- Stay Super: Super reflex mode lets you feel the ultimate flow state! As an athlete at the very top of your game, the adrenaline rush of running perfectly timely techniques gives you a moment of slow clarity. These short blasts of slow-mo action are the perfect time to stop some advanced tactics or blow up some enemies, because while in this mode you also gain a multiplier of 1.5X damage.
- Put up combos: Combos are quickly acquired by securing consecutive kills. The PS5’s 3D audio provides spatial audio signals to locate enemies around the field. Help create a deadly combo to eliminate these words as quickly as possible and end up with a huge score.
- Holy Scriptures: If you’re stuck at a certain level – or just hungry for high scores, check out TricCanary, where you’ll find details on how to turn off new and exciting strategies. You can start small, but try to focus on the advanced strategy section as you improve – these tricky strategies will help increase your score and provide more ammunition when reloading.
