Use The Gloming to teleport to any locker on the map, create one Remnants In process (think of it as a spectral placeholder). With countless lockers located in different locations on any map, this gives Dredge serious mobility. If you decide against teleporting, you can go back to yourself instead Remnants And get back any lost land.
Whether you’re looking to learn The Dredge or your chances of surviving against it, we’ve got you covered with a few tips and tricks.
Three tips for playing dredge
Teleport technique
While The Dredge’s teleportation is an effective way to transcend the map, it can also be used to make a great impact on a chase. If you see a survivor running towards a wide loop – for example, a main building or Killer’s Shack – there will probably be a locker nearby. Use your teleportation to make predictions, get out of the locker and cut them off.
Be careful not to spread yourself thin as the trial progresses and the generators dwindle. Be aware of how the generators are scattered around the map and try to identify which ones are worth holding. It may be tempting to teleport across the map to protect a single generator, but that cooldown can prove costly if the survivors take advantage of your absence – especially late in the game.
Close the loop
With a high efficiency ceiling, the remaining aspect of Dredge’s energy allows for lots of exciting mind games. When a survivor is trying to lure you into a long loop-heavy area, strategically create a remnant at the main chokepoints to effectively cut them off from mid-chase.
Consider creating a residue near a pallet or window, as this is probably what a survivor would want to use it for. If survivors intend to run around a structure more than once, guess it and use your remnants to cover the distance. Just remember, survivors can remove your remnants through direct contact, so try to predict their movements.
The Glooming
Dredge halls are exposed to darkness, so naturally, it increases when the lights go out. When the night cycle begins, remember that the survivors will be far more directional than you. Be aware that you have the advantage of chasing, and areas that survivors can navigate efficiently before can now get in their way.
Needless to say, Nightfall will guarantee you a successful finish in a hurry – but it is worth noting that the vision of survivors will be severely hampered. Is there any scene sweeter than a survivor running through the wall?
We hope you enjoy the game as The Dredge and wish you luck in the upcoming trials… but should you cross your path as an opponent?
Three tips for surviving dredges
Dredge is an oppressive and annoying killer that can quickly darken a survivor’s day. Only the bravest have a chance – and new survivor Haddy Kaur has no shortage of that section.
Haunted by the cool outlook from childhood, Haddy Kaur was led to face the horrors of the outside world. Throughout his journey to haunted corners of the world – which he has covered extensively in his podcasts Destruction of the Abyss He has developed a number of tools to help him deal with this terrible new threat.
If you find yourself facing The Dredge, as Haddy or any other survivor, here are a few helpful tips to brighten up the darkness.
Manage The Nightfall
With all the excitement of a test, losing track of HUD can be easy. When facing Dredge, however, it helps to pay close attention to the meter around your character’s icon. Knowing when the map will be dark will keep you one step ahead. This may sound like a small suggestion but keeping a watchful eye on that HUD can be the difference between life and death, as some areas can really cause problems in the dark.
Watch for signs
If you find yourself following The Dredge, you can choose a beacon for the nearest loop, main building, or killer hut. If there is a locker nearby, the dredge can teleport and get out of it, cutting you off in the process. Keep an eye on its arm – if you see it rise, the dredge is in the process of charging its energy, so beware of a teleportation drama. It is also prudent to observe lockers for signs of its presence, as the dredge releases subtle visual and sound signals while inside.
The mind is locked
While Dredge can teleport across the map, you can interrupt the process by placing a lock on a locker door. Doing so will delay the exit of the dredge, as it will take a few seconds for the lock to be destroyed. It can be tempting to shore up safety on a start Match, but Note that each locker can only be locked once. If Dredge breaks every lock by halfway point in the trial, you may face a challenging endgame.
