Smartwatches play a number of roles, ranging from health and fitness tracking to notification and music playback services. And these have grown in popularity during epidemics, which means you or someone you know has a better chance of gaining one recently.
However, we are surprised that smartwatch owners use their devices less when they wear long sleeves. We raised this question with our readers last week and here are the results of that vote

Of the 1,101 votes cast in this poll, 60.58% said they did not use their smartwatch less when wearing long sleeves. In other words, it seems that most readers feel that a long sleeve is not a deterrent enough for regular watch use.

However, 28.79% of respondents said that they used their smartwatch less when wearing clothes with long sleeves. At least one reader mentioned that they had multiple layers of long-sleeved clothing in the winter.
Finally, 10.63% of surveyed readers said they weren’t sure if they used their smartwatch less when wearing long sleeves. This is understandable, because I doubt it is something that many people have thought of before.

- Theory Elvander: Yes, in general and especially during sports. It’s possible to see my heart rate at a glance in the summer but not in the winter (when I’m wearing long sleeves and a wind stopper or something like that).
- Houston: I prefer a long-sleeved shirt with two buttons on the wrist. This way, I can widen it to the left so that wearing a smartwatch is not a problem.
- Joe Black: Yes, I use it less often. I regularly check the time on my smartwatch so that the time is well understood and plan my time accordingly. In general, I don’t see my heart rate, music control, calendar usage, etc. on my watch, I use my phone and smartwatch app for that. Time, alarms, sleep tracking, occasional sports tracking and notifications now and then. My smartwatch has a peaceful life 😀
