(Note: ‘Shop Spotlight’ here refers to Twitter’s renamed Shop module, which is currently only available for select brands in the United States).
Where Twitter is planning to go next with its professional tools is anyone’s guess, even Twitter is probably obscure, due to the pending Elon Musk takeover. Some have speculated that Twitter could get in the way of Facebook and eventually limit access to business accounts to force more brands to pay for ads.
On Twitter this may seem unlikely, but there is a risk that changing your profile could result in algorithmic effects as a result of strategic changes to the platform.
But you can switch back to a personal account at any time, and Twitter has no rules – at least for now – that force businesses to change.
As such, it can be a good option, providing more contact points for your business.
