Incidentally, called ‘correction’, the new process will display a data card teaser in video playback, indicating when and where a correction note has been added to a clip.

“Until now, if a creator wants to correct an error in an existing upload or update information that was no longer accurate, it is not possible to edit and re-upload the video, resulting in loss of engagement metrics and comments, a note describing options. Addition, error response was limited to comment, pinning a comment or doing nothing. Once the correction is enabled, producers will be able to draw attention to corrections and clarifications in the description of their already published videos. “
As you can see in the example above, the new correction information card will appear in the clip at the top right of the playback window, in the timestamp of the first correction. Clicking on the info card will expand the description of the video, where the producer will be able to provide a written correction or clarification based on the change.
So you can’t completely change your videos as a result of this functionality, this is a supplementary note feature to explain minor errors and mistakes in your video clips.
But as YouTube explains, it can prevent producers from re-uploading their clips – and it can be especially helpful in adding important context to the timely and evolving news-related videos shared on the app.
Producers can also use the option to direct viewers to new clips on the same topic. So if you’ve posted a popular tutorial video on a specific app or device, you can add a note that it has been updated via a correction marker, where you can point users to your new video on the subject.
This is a relatively small, but potentially valuable addition, which can simplify the various functions of your YouTube process.
