Meike has announced the release of a new 8mm F2.8 lens for the Micro Fourths camera system.
The lens, which is fully manual and offers a 16mm full-frame equivalent focal length, is made up of 17 components in 12 groups with multi-coated components. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 25cm (9.8 ”) and a 77mm front filter thread. Meike does not specify the exact dimensions of the lens, but notes that it weighs 480g (1lb).
Other features include a Norld Focus ring, a physical aperture ring, and a general array of distance signs. Due to the bulbs front element, the lens has a built-in petal lens hood, which doubles as a threading point for front-mounted lens filters.
The Meike 8mm F2.8 lens is available for purchase at Meike’s online store for $ 399. It comes with a front and rear lens cap.
