With the new Battle Pass system, you’ll be able to unlock themed cosmetic items and complete weekly challenges for unique rewards. Instead of relying on loot box luck, you’ll be able to choose how you want to invest and move on to new content throughout each season.
With cross-progress enabled, all your unlocks, progress, and compliments will be seamlessly transferred to the device you’re actively gaming on.
Take the fight to a new destination
Overwatch 2 will be a truly globalizing experience. Toronto, New York, Rome, and Monte Carlo will come to the game on October 4 with two brand new maps.
Fight on the streets of Brazil’s iconic city and everyone’s favorite DJ Lucio’s home base Rio. And Travel to Portugal, a new push map that transports players to other lively and inspiring environments to experience new game modes. Overwatch 2 will regularly create more maps so that there will always be new places to fight.
Competitive 2.0
In addition to the aesthetic update, Overwatch 2 will launch with a re-enactment of the Competitive Drama.
A redesigned scoreboard system will provide players with more detailed information throughout the match as well as an after-action report after the end of a match.
Skill ratings will no longer be updated immediately after each game but will have to wait up to seven wins to be evaluated and updated. And instead of a numerical skill rating, each skill level will have five sub-levels from the highest to the lowest.
Are you in it for glory? Stay tuned for more details around Competitive 2.0.
