June 17, 2022: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now getting a new update (via XDA-Developers) It’s a big one with eSIM support (finally) as well as a few new camera features:
Here is the complete changelog:
- The overall stability of your device has been improved.
- The security of your device has been improved.
- Camera function has been improved.
- Night portrait features have been improved.
- Telephoto lens supported in Pro mode.
- The ‘Auto Framing’ feature is supported in video mode and some video call apps.
- Image quality taken through the social or camera app downloaded from the App Store has been improved.
- eSIM support
- Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) support
You can manually check for updates by tapping Settings> Software Update> Download and Install.

- April 11, 2022: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is now getting Android security patch of April 2022. Per Sammobile, This is an important one, where a fix has been included to absorb the “dirty pipe”. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 shouldn’t be sensitive to this exploitation anyway, but knowing everything is safe is definitely a good thing.
- January 31, 2022: On the eve of the new month, Samsung is bringing another update to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Sammobile, It’s also a big one, it’s coming up above 1.1GB ৷ In addition to improving “overall stability”, the firmware version F926BXXU1BVA9 includes a host of stock app updates from Penup to Samsung Internet.
- January 14, 2022: Galaxy Z Fold 3 received security update for January 2022 with firmware F926BXXS1BUL8. The update addresses more than 60 security issues raised by Samsung and Google.
- December 7, 2021: Samsung has rolled out the Android 12-based One UI4 foldable. The rollout of the patch has started in South Korea.
- November 4, 2021: Samsung has launched the November 2021 update on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 device in South Korea and some global markets. Per Sammobile, Updated packaged firmware version F926BXXS1AUJB for those in Europe and F926NKSU1AUJ7 in South Korea. Despite the firmware naming inconsistencies, both patches included a November security patch from Google and a host of additional security fixes from Samsung.
- October 21, 2021: An update for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has been launched across Europe with the firmware version F926BXXU1AUJ7. The update includes the October 2021 Android security patch, a list of Samsung-specific security patches, and a new portrait mode for pet features.
