Photo accessory manufacturer Meike Sony has released a new 85mm F1.8 autofocus lens for the e-mount mirrorless camera system.
The new 85mm F1.8 lens is made up of nine components in six groups and has multi-layer coating on the front and rear components. A stepping motor is used to drive the autofocus system and it uses a nine-blade aperture diaphragm with electronic aperture control. Thanks to contacts, all lens data is sent back to compatible cameras, and an onboard micro USB port can be used when future firmware updates are released.
The minimum focusing distance of the lens is 85cm (33.5 ”), using a 67mm front filter thread and measuring a diameter of 79.5mm (3.1”) with a weight of 386g (13.6oz). Below is a small collection of sample images taken with the lens and provided by Make:
The lens is available for purchase today for 200 Make’s online store. It comes with a lens, front and rear lens cap and a petal shaped lens hood.
