If, like us, you’ve been waiting for Subset Games to return to sci-fi strategy RPGs, in fractureThen today is your lucky day. A brand new update called “Advanced Edition” was released today and it promises to expand the excellent turn-based strategy title in several ways.
Combining new mechanics, weapons, challenges and pilots, the free update will appeal to new players and longtime fans who have been playing since the game launched in 2018. Those who hurt Vek do not know what hurt them!
For a summary of what’s included in the update, see the official release for the following subset:
New Mechanisms and Weapons: Five new mech squads and nearly forty new weapons.
New Challenges: More enemies, more bosses and more mission objectives, adding extra challenges and variety to each race.
New Pilot Skills: The expanded roster includes four new pilots and triples the amount of skills each pilot can gain through upgrades.
While the new update sounds exciting, it seems like it requires a bit of trickery in and of itself to install. Don’t worry, it’s not as complicated as working with space treasures on your own, but if the update doesn’t download automatically, you’ll need to open Game Options from the Nintendo Switch home screen and check for a system update manually.

This new update comes alongside the release of the mobile version of the game on Apple and Android. with The physical release is slated for October this year2022 is shaping up to be a significant year for The Breach.
